WRKO, "The Taste of Boston Tonight"?

Just heard a quick promo on WRKO during Rush's show; after a short sound bit (was half-listening) I heard the announcer say, "A Taste of Boston Tonight--weeknights at 7 pm starting Monday on WRKO". Huh? New show? Whaddabout Savage...what's going on?

UPDATE via Boston Radio Watch: It'll be Todd Fineberg with "life and lifestyle
talk". Savage is gone from 680...maybe to re-emerge on 1150?

Re: WRKO, "Boston Tonight"?

Just hired Todd Gross. He is going to do 4 hours of weather with phone calls.

If only...I get the feeling it could be

a)a feature-ette on what to see and do in town (like Boston After Dark)

b)an hour or so of news, etc. (shaving off part of Savage's show to do so)

c)local talk?

One promo I heard (it's played 3 times this past half hour) had a voice saying
"I'm not going to bars anymore. I'm going to museums to meet women." Followed
by "The Taste of 'Boston Tonight', weeknights at 7 starting Monday"
Possible it's a cooking/dining show?

The Death Spiral Continues...

...if they SH%TCAN Michael Wiener @ 7:00 M-F. Love him for his stories and comedy relief! BUT... if the new capin' of the SS Lusitania is consistent with his recent Fookups (Diamond, Mourning Show, etc.) look for Borders,Language...somewhere else on the dial at night! P.S. New Idea...Why doesn't Wittermore just strap on some TNT (figuratively, ya dopes) like AlQueda and take out 'RKO all at once instead of this death by a thousand cuts! MUCH more humane! SeeYa! ;)

Hello, Borston (Bronx accent), you're next on the Savage Nation, topic please.

Now, we shouldn't assume Savage is gone but I guess we'll find out Monday (or
earlier...). I prefer Ingraham myself, when the Sox aren't playing.
Who would pick up Savage--WTTT? WTKK?...He does air on WCAP still...also tape delayed in Providence on WPRO.

I did find myself thinking last night at 6:59, when Howie gave the phone number,
why bother? They aren't doing local talk till tomorrow morning! Well, maybe there will be local talk at 7...or who knows.

Oops, there's a new promo:
"I used to speak Chinese. Now I'm into Kim Shee" (???)
"The Taste of Boston Tonight, starting Monday..."

Re: WRKO, "Boston Tonight"?

Let's just hope it's not a spinoff of the morning disaster hosted by SAM. I'd rather listen to Savage rant and rave than traffic and weather every freakin' ten minutes, I've stopped listening to the morning crap,,,I tuned in on Thanksgiving morning figuring SAM would not be there and they would have a normal format but instead I heard Whitley following the idiotic format, haven't listened since.

Re: WRKO, "Boston Tonight"?

Even worse, let's replace Savage with a three-hour restaurant show hosted by Pat "Ha-witley"

He was on the "Boston Talk Party" on WBPS-890 before he was on WRKO; I'd figure that's the kind of affiliate he's going to have in the Boston market. Salem airs Savage on their conservative talker in Chicago (WIND) amongst other stations as well, so I wouldn't be surprised if that were his next stop.

"Kim Chee" is a very spicy Korean side dish. A history schoolteacher that I had many years ago claimed that students would be in "deep Kim Chee" if assignments were late.

it's over for WRKO

yep, it's over for 'RKO, stick a fork in it..

it's what happens when you let the sales department take over programming...

Yup, the wrath of Khan. We thought WTKK is awful, this wreaks.
Between the basktball, the morning show and this latest tasty
nonsense. Maybe the first show should be from a hair salon
where Todd Gross paints his hair orange.

WRKO's impending DEATH

she's just so stupid, and arrogant to boot..has no business overseeing WRKO, when it has a 1 share maybe Field will wake up.

When the ratings get to Air America levels, let me know. Boston Radio Watch
reports the new show will be Todd Feinberg. Life-and-leisure (the purple
buildings, ha)?

>>All that is about to change starting next week. On Monday(12/12), WRKO's current weekend talk talent Todd Feinburg will launch a life & leisure-focused talk program called "The Taste of Boston Tonight"<P ID="signature">______________

Yup, that's right....so maybe he'll wind up on WTTT.

Whitley imo just likes to hear himself talk, takes very few phone calls, so why not add another three hours of him talking to himself!! Can't believe Todd Feinberg will be hosting this nonsense. I've heard several ads for this new program since yesterday and it sounds like it's dedicated to the college drinking crowd, how many college students will be tuned in from 7-10 on weeknites to hear about what's new and exciting in Boston, they already know. Another bomb program for WRKO. Can't believe the turn this station is taking.

So should I ask em if I can resurrect the Big 68 on Saturday Nights?

Well, MusicRadio 77 is back on WABC Saturday nights. Could it really be any worse than nobody listening to rerun talk shows?

Where's Shell Swartz these days?<P ID="signature">______________

Unfortunately, dealing with the death of his wife from a form of MS. He put something about it on the wrko.org home page.
