WRKO -- WTKK ratings just plain stink

hate to do this, it just encourages the political zealots on this board, but let's try this anyway --
WRKO's and WTKK's ratings are just plain horrible. WRKO's been crashing for over a year, WTKK's stuck in the mud. Totally boring, unpopular shows go on and on, nobody seems to have a clue what to do. WITHOUT THE POLITICAL CRAP, what's the real reason behind this?

I don't have actual access to the 25-54s though I heard at one point 'RKO was 14th or something. By the
12 +, both stations do half decently. And--yes, you guessed what I'm gonna say next--in that category,
the likes of an 'RKO have had ratings as much as 6 or 7 times as much as that which the Air America
stations in town have had.

E&B on 'TKK had Healey and Patrick on briefly today; Healey was on 'RKO with Howie yesterday. Is the
WKOX/WXKS weekday afternoon show planning to have either on (or Mihos or Ross)? Oh that's right, all politics
is local but on weekdays, the AAR stations are all syndie.

IF WXKS AM put Tom Oliphant on the air, live and local, instead of just having him on a friggin' telephone line on the Al Franken show, the numbers would increase substantially. Oliphant is brilliant.

Howie promoting Kerry Healy is so disingenuous. It isn't going to help his numbers - and did anyone hear the
Mumbles2 chumpline message yesterday? That's exactly what I posted on this board and someone ran with it.

Guess we're now scripting the Howie Carr Chumpline for newbie callers. Has it really come down to this?

RKO has not put any elbow grease into their programming. Putting all their eggs in the Carr basket is not the smartest thing when Carr gets the inevitable flat tire. He just seems to be getting too lazy in his comfort zone.

Guess these ratings are reflecting that.

Putting a pitiful old bore in a bowtie on a station already plagued with wonky snoozefests is pretty much nail in coffin time.

Let's see--U of Lowell students, WZBC stars and now Oliphant.

howie's lady love is active in mass. gop fundraising circuit and she has hosted fundraisers at their gatsby-like estate. howie's name is not attached since he is the member of the 4th estate. he definitely won't give deval any extra free time on wrko show. only equal time as mandated by the feds.

Roy, I mean Ron, I know things are tough with CD sales these days, but Oliphant would be a tad more interesting than Todd Lauzier and Moe Feinberg. Where's Spencer DePetro, by the way?

Come to think of it - just about ANYTHING would be more exciting than DePetro, Lauzier, Fineburg and Hughes.

These individuals have no sparkle. That Scott Allen Miller commercial is awful. Scotto has something to offer, yet Entercom is putting a ridiculous set of words in his mouth that he delivers with no comfort. So when they actually find talent they can't do anything with it.

All Fatso Miller had to do was endorse gay marriage and the resident homosexual becomes a mooncalf.

Every other position is standard right wing boilerplate, but because Miller gives a thumbs up to same sex coupling, Varulven thinks it's love, true love.

Maybe if Miller added Moogy Klingman as sidekick, there would be non-stop orgasm in Medford, eh?

Moogy is actually quite the radio host, but you should know since you hired one of my faves - Jay Diamond.

I'm still trying to get ahold of those Bob Dylan/Bette Midler out-takes Moogy produced when he had
UTOPIA back Bette Midler for her third album...oh what was it called..."Songs for the New Depression."

Bette Midler backed up by Utopia- how hip is that!


p.s. I met Scotto at some luncheon WRKO had - Jackie Mason or something - nice fellow and not nearly as big as you "Ron Jippey", so it's kind of odd you'd go after him on that aspect of his...profile.

it's kind of obvious fatso miller is a one-dimensional character. gay love, falling tunnel ceilings, hair band trivia and non-english speaking aliens seem to be his only power cards. for a fat guy he seems to be a lightweight talkshow host.
