Wrko has exibited a racial bias plenty of times in the past and while Howie Carr may not be donning a Klan hat and using the "N" word that does not mean that he is NOT somewhat racially bias which is polite for a little racist. Most of the time white working class types cannot acknowledge the existence of racism unless it is in the purest and most obvious form, aka the "N" word not because they are unfeeling but they honestly dont understand. Howie definately has a bit of a racial bias which is not as well pronounced and glaring as Dennis and Callahan but it's there. When the lumpen proletariat like Raccoonradio claim "liberals this liberals that, always playing the race card..." it's a waste of time. While his conservative leanings are well established here (which I dont take issue with in a free democratic state) a problem exxists though because he's obviously cut from the same cloth as those who can't see it if is not in the most glaringly obvious form, aka the "N" word. Im not a "liberal", Im just not some right winger who rejects everything by labeling it "liberal" etc. Calling something out for being racist is not playing the race card. RKO/Entercom has cultivated an audience of the angry. blue collar, suburban white of MASSACHUSETTS historically one of the most racist places in the country despite all of the talk of it's liberal leanings. Reality check, Massachusetts is not this liberal utopia. Voting for a Kennedy and not wanting the death penalty does not make it a liberal state, if it were Entercom would not have the huge numbers, ratings, and cume wise that it does, and air America would be in the position in the Mass. culture that RKO and weei are. It is a very provincial, closed minded, working class place when you get outside of the city and that is most of Massachusetts, outside of the city!. Point is they're playing to the audience that is there, 90% white, many not so happy about things like affirmative action (although if asked most of them could not even define it except to say that "it's bad because it's taking away jobs from us"), Wrko is a reflecton of the culture that they have cultivated only a fool does not acknowledge that. That does not makke me a liberal for stating it. Get a clue. WKKK is a mis statement as poorly thought out and lacking merit as "Liberals dont leave home without the race card". It is not like Bull Conner is on the air there but they definately have a bias because most of the audience that they are ttrying to attract has a bias, so they reflect their audience and in many cases influence it. That is programming 101, you speak the same language as your listeners.
