WRKO's Scott Allen Miller A Racial Bigot ?

Listening to WRKO's Scott Allen Miller over a series of weeks in the final days of the Democratic Gubernatorial Primary race one may wonder and raise the question whether Miller is a racial bigot. To be sure he is a native of Indiana - one of the strong and last hold outs of the KKK - but his daily implications against Deval Patrick, the only Black American in the race would raise the question.

Scott Allen Miller's discussion seems to far beyond the politics of the day with a distinct tone to his voice that he would like to make Patrick's race a qualifying factor. To confirm this suspicion he has announced on air his support for one of the candidates. It isn't Patrick and it isn't the only Irish Catholic in the race.

Having the support of a closet bigot might work against his candidate if should win today's race.

If Patrick should win today will Scott Allen Miller's racial bigotry come out of the closet?

Your implication that fighting racism is not productive says more about you than anything any poster might add.

I don't think this is Scott Allen Miller's personal opinion; it seems to be a "hail mary" pass from corporate.

Scotto doesn't appear to be that kind of person; however, we know that Entercom is not beyond having their on-air personalities push the envelope so they can suspend them, slap them on the wrists, and hope for some ratings.

Of course, like Bush, Scotto's ratings have nowhere to go but up. This isn't the way to get there.

What will Jason & Julie do next? Take his initials and create the "Son of S.A.M. Show" ?

Foreboding behavior - the aggregate of responses to internal and external stimuli, i.e. Julie's command?

It appears as if you are implying (or flat out saying) that everyone from Indiana is a supporter of the KKK and is a bigot? Now that's painting with a broad brush don't you think? Quite a statement to make!

Just stating a possible reason for his views.

it may not be the reason... after all, bigots come from all over. Michael Savage is a New Yorker isn't he?

I don't have a comment on the show because I haven't listened to WRKO in years now

More like desperation for attention.

You'd have to be pretty damned stone dumb NOT to assume that a fair amount of the aged P1's in Boston ain't Dapper O'Neill-type bigots.

He's pandering, as one would expect from a morning show that's outperformed by every other day part.

Paul, why don't you leave Total Recorder open on your PC and isolate anything controversial? Surely this will be a topic of discussion tomorrow on Scotto's show, and you'll get to use fair use examples of his bigotry.

you know... I never liked Dapper's politics but I used to love it when he'd fill in on the old WHDH or appear on Jerry Williams' show...

Think the Gabrieli for Governor Headquarters has closed shop in the Sneaker Building. Does this mean that Scotto is out of job.
Well, it should give him time to bleach his sheets and buy more kerosene for his .... well, you know what for.

I have a few comments:

The day that a show like Scott Allen Miller's with all the brilliant callers has any direct bearing on an outcome of an election is the day we should all move to Canada.
WRKO is a righty talk station and that slant will never win over the lions share of undecideds in Massachusetts, maybe New Hampshire

Also, although Michael Savage( Weiner) is originally from the Bronx, he is based out of San Francisco, and he has lived there for many years. He has stated that his experience ( and I'm paraphrasing) in San Francisco has awakened him to the "enemy from within" and that "liberalism is a mental illness". Imagine living in New York and defining mental illness, liberalism would not necessarily be New York's major mental illness ;D

Savage's "mental illness" isn't liberalism, unless liberalism comes in a bottle and secretly wants to indulge in the actual "San Francisco Treat".

Savage reeks of equal parts moth balls and gin, if you catch my drift.

As for RKO's morning guy, morning shows are supposed to be upbeat, light, informative and funny--not morose, dark and filled with cringe-inducing ruminations on lack of marital sex.

Why tune that in, first thing in the morning--all you'd wanna do is go back to bed.
