No one is debating that. He still has an ugly and pronounced accent that precludes him from working anyplace outside of New England. Frankly, it's out of place anywhere north of Attleboro.
Worse still is his lack of ability when it comes to topic selection. More than once, Scott Allen Miller has him on at 8:55 and is talking about some interesting topic only to have Depetro say "yes, but we're not going to be talking about that..."
Instead, it's usually something that's either out of touch with the events of the day or - even worse - a hyper-local story about something that happened somewhere between the South Shore and Newport. Never to the north and almost never something of great local interest to listeners north of downtown Boston. Perhaps Brockton, or Providence, or Seekonk. He'd be better off on the air in Providence. After all, clearly that's where his heart is.
No, this week has been a nice break between 9 and 12. Normally, I do not listen to WRKO during those hours.
