WRMI in Hurricane Milton’s path

Checking the latest National Hurricane Center advisories, it appears that Hurricane Milton will pass very close to, if not directly over, the WRMI shortwave facility 20 miles north of Okeechobee, Florida. Although inland, it will still pack hurricane force winds.

Still hearing the station on 15770 and 17790 kHz at a check around 1745 UT today 10/9.

2 pm update from WRMI..
"Hurricane Milton Update, as of Thursday October 10:
Power has been returned at our transmitter site, but there is some damage in the antenna field. Our engineers will be doing a survey of the antenna fields this afternoon. We may be able to have some transmissions back on the air tonight - no promises yet."
