Sorry, I would have replied sooner but I tried to change my e-mail here and it locked me from making replies.
The permit to move to 93.7 MHz expired unbuilt in June and it's against the rules to simulcast a translator on two frequencies at once. I don't know what they think they're doing but it's wrong.
On a related note, has anyone heard the 106.9 in Fort Walton Beach on air yet? They filed a license to cover which means it should be on the air.
No, that turns out to be correct. The original permit was set to expire in June, two years after it was granted, however after digging into more of the filings on fccdata.org I see that they did a tolling request to extend the date. It's just not reflected in the overview of permits on that site.
I don't see tolling much so didn't even think to look at that filing.
Still, I'm 99% sure they're still breaking the rules by having both 106.9 and 93.7 on at the same time.
neither 93.7 or 106.9 are running RDS. The TOH ID list 980 and 93.7 only.
I don’t know what’s going on and hate to speculate.
93.7 maintains a constant signal strength around Pensacola. The signal on 106.9 gets weaker the closer I get to the tower and stronger when I dive south or east of the tower. Is it possible that WRNE is simulcasting on the New 106.9A in Ft. Walton?
I also assume 93.7 is not broadcasting from the Long Hollow tower because the city has announced it will be torn down next year.
