WRNM 91.7 Ellsworth ME

Got a chance to check out the transmitter-site and antenna for WRNM a couple days back. Located on Beckwith Hill, just around the corner from the WNSX 97.7 studios in Ellsworth on Beechland Road, off Route 3. Pretty inconspicous tower, in the woods, probably 60-70 feet tall with a 5-bay antenna. Located next to the Ellsworth Asssembly of God Church. Looks and sounds like they take reception of WMDR Augusta right off the air. Small side-mounted FM yagi antenna on the tower facing west. Audio quality is not especially good, mono only and lots of distortion and various other noises.
Puts out a good signal around Ellsworth area, and down here onto Mount Desert Island.
According to FCC Website and Daily Digest they were granted their license to cover yesterday (April 6th)

The WRNM tower is 100 feet tall, and is Rohn 45G. The antenna is a 5 bay full wave Shively 6812B. The small FM yagi is receiving WMDR-FM (88.9 Oakland) directly over the air, from 100 miles away. Audio quality is not yet where it should be, because of some RFI issues in the receiver trying to pick up 88.9 OTA. I expect that it will be running cleanly, in stereo within a few weeks.
