WROR: Paul Perry sent packing??

Noticed there's no sign whatsoever anymore of Paul Perry on WROR's website. He may be the first Boston Greater Media casualty of the new year. Unless they move someone (Julie D?) into daytime, that means they are now jockless (except for the At Work Nation Employee of the Day) from 10am until 7pm when Julie comes on. They have replaced Paul's name on the schedule with music, for now anyway:

It'd be great to see Kim Collins make a comeback, wouldn't it?

Paul Perry can't seem to win in Boston. He was on the original WROR, later Oldies mornings, now 105.7 afternoons with Chicago in between.

She's currently on weekends on WZLX.

Yes, but it'd be great to see her make a comeback. On WROR.

Wouldn't it?? Hmmm?

And team her up with Mauzy Stafford to replace Loren and Wally. What is your fixation on these two women? They're weekenders. They front sell and back sell like everyone else. They're both capable at what they do.End of story.

I have no idea what you're talking about.

But that'd be a great idea. :p :D

Not that it means much. The sweeper may not have been changed yet. I am listening to the online feed and Paul Perry was mentioned.

Someone missed that "liner"?

It looks like he is gone, but he actually is still on the WROR website: he's listed on the background wallpaper, where he will remain until someone over there reads this. I think Tai's name was still on the website wallpaper for a year after he was canned.

Perry's timeslot in Chicago was actually morning drive at CBS' oldies station 104.3 WJMK, where he served as the permanent replacement for local institution John Records Landecker. The shift lasted only a year or so until WJMK became "104.3 Jack FM" - Perry moved over to the station's HD2 for a short while, but left when his contract expired, IIRC.

WJMK returned to live mornings in late 2007 with the addition of talk host Steve Dahl, but that show was cut in late December, and it is now assumed that Jack will soon give way to a simulcast of CBS' all-news WBBM 780.

Looks like they took care of that wallpaper. :D

I'm gonna throw something out there and say Dominick Indindoli (who is really Dominick Lewis, formerly of WBOS) will take over Julie's current 7pm-midnight shift and Julie will head to afternoon drive (or back to 10-3). Dominick has been weekending at WROR for a while (and fills in on morning traffic for Hank semi-regularly) and he had the late shift at WBOS before their flip.

In today's Messenger blog on the Herald site, Jessica Heslam says Perry's last day at the station was
last Monday; Greater Media decided to let his contract expire. They will name a replacement soon.

Boston Radio Watch mentioned it as well and thinks John Lander, recently let go from Mix 98.5, may soon resurface in Perry's slot.

That'll make WROR even more boring than it already is now. Although Paul Perry was pretty bad.

They still haven't removed Paul's name from their RDS display yet.

His name still comes up during afternoon drive spot breaks in between displaying song titles/artists.

If they get Lander that means a lot less music in the afternoon and more yak.

does anyone know what is behind a radio station managers thinking. obviously money, but one would think they know talent. I've always thought Paul Perry was good and Dan McCoy as well, he used to be on oldies 103. it must be the kiss ass factor. maybe J C Haze, ( weekend jock) at WROR may have the answer, he used to be the PD at cool oldies in Manchester, NH. Paul is talented, he will bounce back.
