WROR's Loren & Wally

This morning on Loren & Wally they brought on what sounded like a new character. It was a very over-the-top flamboyant male voice named Gay Vernon. I wonder if this was a shot at Magic's Gay Vernon? Obviously both are owned by Greater Media and Gay Vernon does Magic's morning news. I've listened to L & W for years and enjoy their show very much, but if this was a shot at Magic's Vernon, it was pretty nasty & rude stunt to do to a co-worker.

Anyone else catch it?
 
That character has been on for a long time. (Tom Doyle) Nothing to be offended by, its pretty funny. He comes on and says "hey guys..." and they all say "OH NO, ITS GAY VERNON" His name isn't Gay Vernon, he's Vernon (who's gay)
 
and at one time, the lovely Gay Vernon did the news FOR Loren and Wally. it's all one big, fairly happy, disfunctional radio family at Greater Media.

And on Kiss, Matty took phone calls.
And on Mix, Lander did another phone prank.
On WBZ, they did news.

My point? This is just part of the regular morning shtick, and not particularly noteworthy.
 
What are the hours for the Loren and Wally show? It seems like in the middle of the day I'll hear someone on 105.7 say that it's the Loren and Wally show, but it's neither of them............if that makes any sense.

L&W are on from 5:30 to 10:00 AM, but their show is promoted constantly at all other times, and is mentioned in many station liners. That's what you're hearing after 10 AM.
 
How long has Lander been doing mornings on Mix now? Can't seem to remember how long and who did mornings in the time between Joe & Andy and Lander??
 
Pretty sure Lander took over by the end of 1996. Also pretty sure that Joe did mornings without Andy between "Joe & Andy" and Lander. Also pretty sure that Joe was one of the first afternoon guys on the new WROR on 105.7 which was launched around Labor Day in 1996??

more like early '96. joe went on medical leave at the end '95. two or three months strassell later told him not to bother coming back because he already found his replacement - gerbel in the morning. cold.
