WROX - Clarksdale

WROX-AM 1450 and WKXY-FM 92.1 in Clarksdale, Mississippi have returned to the air after a brief hiatus. During the down time, the station completely rebuilt its transmitter site (new building, new grounding, new transmitter, etc.) and moved into new studio facilities at 628 DeSoto Avenue in Clarksdale. Inasmuch as Clarksdale is THE home of the blues, the stations are simulcasting all-blues programming from the American Blues Network. George Hines, Jr. is the General Manager of WROX/WKXY.

Best of luck to them- the programming on the ABN has improved over the last year and it seems like they are playing more "classics" and not trying to push new music as much as in the past. Still, I miss the days when a lad could cut his teeth in a small market and actually work live and learn the fundamentals,. Oh well...I suppose the horse and buggy crowd had to give it up to the auto club, such is progress.
