WROX Clarksdale

The new BE-AM1A really cooks. And we have some older but still kick-a$$ processing. On a programming note, we've dropped the American Blues Network and are now doing it locally. We now have a live morning show (the only one in the area), plus we'll have local voices in other shifts soon. We've added FOX News Radio at the top-of-the-hour and we're now airing meteorologist Tom Churchill twice an hour. Plus, the new website is up at www.wroxradio.com.

well finally something to draw me away from xm/ sirius for awile :) this is a good station! kind of reminds me of 780 in jackson when it was blues. sounds like an erik clapton album track on right now? 11:44pm thursday night.

Judging from the website, one would expect weatherman Tom Churchill to be roaming the streets of Clarksdale looking for a storm to chase....

You really expect your listeners to believe that isn't a computer??

The temp-ra-ture is for-ty sev-en degrees in Clarks-dale....

I heard "Tom" on a station in Alabama somewhere once and it sounded OK. The average everyday listener who isn't intently focused on how he sounds wont realize he's a computer.

Those of us radio people and the listeners who pay clsoe attention will realize it's Mr Tom "Meteorologist On The hard Drive" Chuchill.

Written by somebody who has apparently never heard Tom Churchill's weather. It DOES NOT sound like that.

Thanks, but this is just the early stages of the re-birth of WROX. It will get even better.

My station uses Tom and he/it sounds great! He even get's Christmas cards from some of our older female audience members......

I don't guess they bring brownies anymore... that was something you'd hope for in Drew on a Saturday afternoon... and very often it did happen.

I'll second that emotion! :D

I'm listening to the stream (musta missed the website last time I looked at the thread) and it's great.

Does the station broadcast in stereo now with the new transmitter? If so I'll take my lil' Sony AMAX Walkman up there next time I'm passing through.

...and that Tom Churchill sounds pretty natural, if not a little stilted. I wouldn't have known it was a computer if not told otherwise.

I've listened to WROX's webstream, sounds nice!!! I like the music.. sounds good at 64k/16hz...

Tom Churchill sounds decent.. I'm trying him out for my station.
