WRPO-LP WEB SITE

Good luck to you WRPO...from an 'ol diehard Buddy Rich fan who saw "big swing face" and his band back in the day at BGSU when I was a senior at Lehman Catholic in 1973....good luck with the website too!

Got Buddy??? Please play the "West Side Story Medley" if 'ya got it...it rocks!

Thanks.. don't think I have that one. Krupa was my favorite..I had a drum set exactly like his and played in big local bands for many years. I had the bass drum painted just like his, since my name is GeneKirby...(GK)...had a lot of fun with that..the only thing that gave me away was the fact that I (had) red hair!

Hey Gene...was on your site over the weekend and read about your switch to smooth jazz. You're not dumping big band together are you? Any other changes forthcoming?

Other intersting genres out there too like early doowop, early soul gospel (Highway QC's,Mighty Clouds of Joy,Mahalia Jackson)rockabilly, bluegrass, contemporary blues(Keb' 'Mo and others)swing revival (Brian Setzer Orch.,Squirrel Nut Zippers,Cherry Poppin Daddies,Christina Aguilera, etc.)

Yes, we are changing to smooth jazz in about a week. Big band shows will still play on Saturday am..oldies from midnight to dawn. All other times will be smooth jazz...( and cool jazz)... Thanks for checking the web site.
