WRTM

I can understand why we have broadcast attorneys after pilfering through title 73 several times over the years looking for various things.
 
There might be some short-spacing issues with 100.9, but could it have been possible to move 100.5 to, say, Bolton or Clinton and get better Jackson coverage? If not, what about Madison/Ridgeland or Flowood/Brandon? With the signal coverage I saw for moving WRTM to Sharon, you're not gonna get very good coverage past north Jackson.
 
Prior to 1971, Carl Haynes was working at the leading black-oriented station in Denver Colo. He came to Jackson that year to work at WKXI, as a charter member of our air staff. He was at WJMI for many years after that. Though I haven't seen Carl in 40 years, I remember him as being very knowledgeable in broadcast matters, so I'm certain he knows what he's doing with WRTM.
 
I remember Carl used to do a shift on WJMI back in the day. I didn't realize he was up there in age as he is, being in the market for 40 years.
 
If I were Carl Hayes I would immediately contact Dr Flinn about leasing WJXN-FM when EMF is done with it now that they purchased 94.7 and 93.9.

That would give WRTM full market coverage. WJXN was R&B before the deal with EMF so the dial position is familiar.
