WRTN Becomes WVIP-FM Tomorrow

Starting tomorrow, if you are in around the Hudson Valley including Westchester County, WRTN will become WVIP-FM at 93.5. It used to be at 106.3 when it was WVIP-FM at the time before they later became a simulcast of WFAS as WFAF and finally a simulcast of WPDH. I remember years ago when WBPM was at 94.3 as "B94", "Rhythm 94.3" and "Cool 94.3" until they changed the calls to WKXP in 2003 as "Kicks" and now "The Wolf". In 2004, they brought back oldies with the WBPM calls at 92.9 after the call letter change from WRKW was "92.9 Rock". As for WVIP-FM, it will be at 93.5 tomorrow. Will see what happens.

Guess what! 93.5 WRTN is now WVIP-FM as of yesterday after they changed its call letters. The WVIP calls is returned to Westchester County. According to Scott Fybush's NERW:

Bill O'Shaughnessy is bringing a venerable callsign back to the airwaves. On Wednesday (Nov. 1), he'll flip WRTN (93.5 New Rochelle) to WVIP-FM, paying tribute to the late Martin Stone's WVIP in Mount Kisco, an erstwhile sister station to O'Shaughnessy's WVOX (1460). The WVIP calls are still in use on 1310 in Mount Kisco, though that station's now merely a simulcast of Spanish religious WWRV (1330 New York); the former WVIP-FM on 106.3 in Mount Kisco is now WFAF.
