WRUF AM-850 OFF THE AIR

RUF was off the air this afternoon from 12:30 or so until at least 2:30. (I wasn't able to listen from 2:30 until now) It's now 4:45 and they are back.

Not sure if it was Dish and/or Receiver problems, transmitter maintenance or what?
 
It could have been most anything unexpected. I doubt they would take the station off-air for planned routine transmitter maintenance during the middle of the day, but it may have been a power outage or some other unexpected, unplanned set of circumstances.
 
I'm banking on one of two things.

Yesterday, I'm pretty confident it was a bird problem.

This morning, they were off from at least 8:20, when I turned it on. They then popper back on at about 8:32. This time the TX was off completely as I heard two other stations in the background. Yesterday was a silent carrier.
 
What kind of a bird problem do you suspect? If they were off the air as many times as you described, then they are having some serious issues that need to be addressed and resolved as quickly as possible. And I am sure that is exactly what they are doing. Thanks for the update...
