WRUF Channel 6

While flipping through this morning, I caught an actual on camera weathercaster doing his forecast. Guy was well spoken and quite good. Anyone know if these are students or an out of market service?

It is perfectly acceptable to discuss TV on a radio board, especially considering the market size. Television is still broadcasting...

It is actually a Low Power Digital assigned to and operating on channel 5.

Bet they are LPFM stations

Yuuup. Those two analog TV stations left in Pensacola on channels 12 and 39 are indeed LPFMs. :'(

Some websites are listing WBQP-CA 12 with a new COL of Gulf Breeze. The station doesn't reach Gulf Breeze, even with a rooftop VHF antenna. Hope they go to UHF when/if they finally convert to DTV... Or pull a BLAB and lease a sub channel from WHBR or another full power. Locally owned urban programmed TV would probably do very well in Mobile.
The analog translator on channel 39 just lights up for a few weeks every few months to keep the license alive. They've been doing this for... damn near a decade now. When radio station owner Michael Glinter bought channel 39 I was sure he was going to try to move it to analog channel 6, but that never happened. Looks like that won't be possible now as the WPAN guy has applied to move his channel 50 translator from Mobile to channel 6 on a tall tower over in Robertsdale.

What's worse than talkin TV on a Radio board? Low Power TV!!!!
Ugh...............
