WRUF Jingles

> Does anyone here know if WRUF used any jingles?

I know that when I was there (1994), AM 850 used JAM's "Spirit Of New England" package from WBZ in Boston. They were ordered in the Fall of 1991, when the AM switched to News/Talk. Not all the cuts from WBZ were resung. We had 2 6 second ID's, and 1 ten second ID, a 60 second "Geographical" song, a :30 "News Promo", a :20 Top of Hour Jingle/"Headline Intro", an instrumental "Sports Bumper", and another "30 bed". There were also mixed-out variants of the :60 song that allowed for additional :30 beds, and the :10 ID (which said "Hear the Gators on AM 850, WRUF Gainesville!" had various cuts which were alternated. We also took the acappella "WRUF Gainesville!!" mixouts, which allowed us several :03 and :04 IDs to fill when needed.

In 1996 or so I and a few others wanted to 'freshen' the sound, and we suggested upgrading to the WLS "TalkAction" package..Due to political reasons, that did not go through and instead, the WBZ jingles were scrapped, and generic production music was used instead...I graduated in 1998, and moved to Miami.

Prior to the Talk format, the station ran Oldies, and we ran into a really bad sounding (think old Mentos commercials) jingles reel dated 1987 or 88, can't remember, from a "Kristy Productions" in Nashville. "Your Hometown 85 Is The Best!"....They were really terminal and sounded like they were put together on a Casio organ.

This might take me a while to find an aircheck. I know I have stuff, but I have to find it..Email me privately (at the address in my profile).
