WRVI Flip Imminent?

Mr. Yeager... The 'flip' is coming... It looks like the target date for a temporary LMA is October 1st or a little after that date... When the sale is approved, then the LMA will end and Way Media Ministries will take full charge.....

I see the 105.9 poster has been taken down (should have taken a screenshot of it).

Great article on you William in today's CJ!

Where the article on Mr. Yeager??? I will go on line to see it in the "CJ"... Way to go William! :)

Well, it happened. The last song was Selah's "You Lift Me Up", followed by a stray "W" from the River's Legal ID (so yes, you self-proclaimed FCC enforcement staff, there was no legal ID at 12:00 AM), and then WAY-FM was joined in progress with Building 429's "Glory Defined". WRVI was one of the few ACs that played the album version of that song, which made for a fitting transition.

The first sweeper post-switch failed to mention 105.9 but that has been corrected as of 12:15. WAY-FM's site (wayi.wayfm.com) has been updated, probably at the stroke of midnight. The post-Arena and post-Museum Plaza skyline has been pulled for a closeup of the Second Street Bridge.

Thanks for the report William... I know Salem served well, and knowing Way's track record of community involvment, it will continue to serve beyond the said format... I have always admired Salem as a stock company serving the Evangelical and Conservative communities as a humble for profit group. They saw what all of us saw coming down the road (dominos in the economy since 1998), and now concentrate on their other properties... On the Way side...Go get 'em.. They are more motovated by long term growth with the priority of ministry to their target, then quick ratings success... Their non-coms (these are the first two coms for them) are monitored with symposium numbers they can't use for sales, but can use as base research.. Their growth in their key markets has been impressive (West Palm, Nashville, Denver, etc).... A great group to work for and live amoungst... ;D

Way will keep 104.3... (Rules allow it with city grade and owned by a 501(C)3, though a commercial outlet)....It has the signal in the east burbs and north of the river they want, as 105.9 has the downtown, south and southwest sides they could not get with 104.3 (besides downtown)...

In a somewhat related topic, WFBR is now back at its former strength at 95.3 FM. The FCC page shows it was recently granted the right to move there from 93.9 FM, which if you remember it was virtually bumped off the air by WQKC. If you drive in southern Jefferson County you can hear that it has already made the switch to 95.3. It broadcasts from Mt. Washington. It is still a CHRSN / WAY-FM affiliate for now. I guess in some particular places you can hear WAY-FM on 95.3, 104.3 and 105.9 clearly.

Probably around the Jefferson-Bullitt line, between Fern Creek and Mount Washington-the old WFBR butted heads with WJIE's former translator at 93.9 in Fern Creek, which is about where both signals went below 40 dBu according to Radio-Info's contour maps.

If WAKW isn't booming, you might actually be able to find a point near where the Jefferson, Bullit, Spencer, and Shelby county lines come together where you can hear WAY-FM/CHRSN on four frequencies-93.3, 95.3, 104.3, and 105.9.

I noticed that 105.9 and 104.3 have not simulcasted for a week now. The Way-FM satellite feed is still on 104.3 and 105.9 has been automated and jockless. Does anyone know the status of 105.9 WRVI?

I will listen to the net feed for Louisville... Everything on the transfer is 'a-ok' from my sources.. The feed I am getting 'is' IDing BOTH 105.9/WRVI-Valley Station and 104.3/WAYI-Charlestown..."Louisville and Kentuckiana's Way-Fm!"...

I would say that they do not have the equipment set up at 105.9 for that yet. Initially they were apparently using an audio stream as the sound was very low quality and muffled. Now they must have it set up for direct feed, but not yet the Satellite, and put that on so the sound quality would be better while they are still setting up for the satellite feed. I would guess they'll probably also at some point have their own local morning show in this area rather than using the Nashville show.

Salem is probably helping Way out. Since the simulcast sounded so horrible they probably decided to let Way use and program there music from the same studio Salem's RVI was in.

It's also possible they have a computer at the transmitter spitting out the tunes on otto mode.

I would think if 105.9 is programming different from 104.3 at this time would be due to not having a STL setup (or issues with the setup) to get the signal from 104.3's studios to the 105.9 Transmitter for Simlucast.

WAY FM Media Group is a top notch broadcaster and I am sure they will have things up to par soon.

Nope.
