WRVM, Rochester, NY

Don't know whether to post this here, or to the Buffalo/Rochester board...

Looking for any info on WRVM in Rochester NY. I am pretty sure it was a daytimer at 680 kHz (to protect what was CFTR in Toronto) that flipped to country as WNYR in 1965 (which moved to 990 in the 80s to go 24 hours).

Format was either beautiful music, or MOR- although I understand they tried top 40 (THE Johnny Holliday did some time there- although his book kept referring to it as "WVRM"!)- and the imaging I remember was it called itself "Rochester's Voice of Music"- although, this can't be relied on- I was all of eight years old when they flipped to WNYR.

"Northeast Airchecks" has one of their jingles on a jingle collection- which sounds consistent with a "beautiful music" operation.

That's all I have- other than I recall our neighbor thought it was the greatest station that ever was- actually had my parents- who thought radio in Rochester started and ended with WHAM- listening until it flipped.

Is there anyone else out there that has any other insights on this obscure topic?
