WRXP HD1 audio

If you're one of the few to own an HD radio, just for fun do an A/B comparison of WRXP's FM analog and HD1 audio. The analog signal sounds pretty good but the HD1 stream sounds awful, like an extremely low bitrate mono feed.

The smooth jazz format on the HD2 channel sounds OK though. Curious, is it always like this?

Seems like another example of the kind of neglect HD channels get in general.

The streaming audio from WRXP is also sounding very bad. Level changes and low volume output. They never heard about webstream processing I quess.. :-\

Maybe the WRXP webstream and HD-1 feed are one and the same?

Or maybe the bitrate is meant to be that low, pending a flip to a spoken-word format. ::)
