WRXP's Matt Pinfield Moving to Middays

The rock station's morning man Matt Pinfield mentioned on his Twitter page that starting Monday, his show will move to the 10 AM-3 PM time slot. The show's co-host Leslie Framm will continue to be on with him, during that time period.
As his show features lengthy interviews with rock stars, perhaps it makes sense to shift it away from mornings, which may call for a faster paced show. Perhaps his ratings during the high profile morning time period have been disappointing.
There was no mention of who will replace him during mornings. Who would be a good fit, and be able to connect with the young demos?

Here is your obligatory "rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic" reference...

Does WRXP think the real problem was the morning drive program? Or that it was in the wrong daypart? Steve Craig? They're gonna need to pirate Howard Stern's program if they want to inch upward in the ratings. Hell, they should have automated mornings and called it "The Shut Up And Rock Morning Show." No offense to Mr. Craig, of course - but the move, moreso Matt & Leslie to middays, lacks "wow factor."

Never mind the fact that Matt's returning to MTV and the midday shift accommodates his schedule, but he'd be better off leaving the station altogether, especially since it could be gone at any given moment.

Why on earth would a music station pay TWO people to sit and spin records on a midday shift? Can't Leslie do it by herself? Is Pinfield really such a big deal that he needs a co-host? Or is it really that so much of it will be pre-recorded because he won't be there that they need someone to hold the fort down...

As I said before, is Pinfield really that much of a draw that he warrants this treatment? I would wager out of their entire cume there's about 3-5 people that tune in because of Matt Pinfield.

Fram is the PD as I believe, so she's on that salary as well.
I don't know why RXP needs Pinfield, they should just focus on the rock.

Is there anyone who sounds more uncomfortable on radio than Matt Pinfield?

He may have great connections in the music biz but he's difficult, at best, to listen to.

@radiojomo: Matt Pinfield, with his background, is the most recognizable name amongst 'RXP's jocks. It is that name recognition that 'RXP hopes will draw listeners. But, again, he's better off leaving that sinking ship and concentrating on MTV full-time.

Leslie's press release said this would give her more time to focus on programming the station. I always found a pd's unavailability during crucial business hours very hard...although it might save her having to go to needless time wasting meetings.

2 people in mid day on a music station does seem unnecessary. I keep thinking this is a Hail Mary and for last resort purposes only.

Pinfield is back to MTV? What's he going to be doing, appearing on Jersey Shore?!

@WBIMDJ: Maybe he's going to be the star of a new spinoff series - "Pig-Skins"... ::)
