Attorney and former Maricopa County Republican Party Chairman Tom Liddy was on the hot seat Tuesday, the witness chair in a defamation lawsuit, when he got a little constructive criticism from the judge about his other profession: Talk-radio host.
Liddy, who co-hosts a talk show on KKNT 960 The Patriot, is being sued for defamation for comments made as the GOP chairman in a 2004 e-mail about a controversial early ballot mailer by conservative political consultant Constantin Querard.
When Liddy was called to the stand by his attorney, Tom Ryan, Ryan began by asking Liddy what he did for a living, and things got around to the radio show.
"How would you describe your radio show?" Ryan asked.
"Highly informative and highly entertaining," Liddy replied.
Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Mark Aceto, who is one of the most polite and least demonstrative judges you're likely to see bang a gavel, deadpanned: "You're under oath, sir."
