WRZN AM-720

It's been several years since I was in the area to hear/listen for myself, but I was just wondering if WRZN is still on the air with the "Soft AC" format as "Sunshine 720" from WW1/Dial Global? I recall staying in Kissimmee and trying to pull in the signal from the Ocala-area and losing it after dark from it's directional array. No website for them which I found odd so I figured I would ask here to ease my curiosity.

Thanks in advance! :)

They were playing the Adult Standards format from DG with Don and Gene doing mornings live till noon playing mostly REAL oldies, big band stuff. I miss it. Jeff forgot to mention the change to Fox News came after the sale of all Pamal stations in the Gainesville market to MARC Radio

For those of you who miss Gene Martin of WRZN, his show is still on via the web at www.TheGeneMartinShow.com.

In a related note, I hosted a Saturday night big band show on WMFQ FM in Ocala in the 1990s. Before that I was an announcer at WLUS and programmed the nostalgia format there for several years. Gene is airing my show "The Nostalgic Rambler" Sat and Sun at 1PM on his internet station along with several other similar programs. Enjoy!

I wonder why Pamal never simulcast an adult standards format on WDVH & WRZN. They would have had to do newer music than WRZN was playing but I think it would have been successful. I know you can't sell that demo (or don't want to sell that demo).

WRZN was rebroadcast over WDVH briefly when Pamal first acquired the station. The original plan was to simulcast WRZN 720, WLUS 980 and WYNY 1240 as "The Cozy Group" with its unique adult standards blend. The simulcast arrangement between 720 and 980 came to an end when Pamal was unable to come up with a suitable STL for all three stations.

It looks like they have a mix of Fox Radio shows (Kilmeade & Friends, John Gibson) and Salem shows (Michael Medved, Mike Gallagher, Dennis Praeger).

No word on whether they carry Alan Colmes from the Fox Radio network. He's liberal even though he's on Fox.
