The other day while just scanning the AM dial to see what is happening in that corner of the world, 720 WRZN got my attention. They are playing Adult Standards and, unlike the Roger Miller to Glenn Miller train wrecks of some stations of this ilk, they sound as good as it gets in that genre. They call it Sunny 720 and make no bones about who they are aiming at. One image liner even says..."The two joys of life...grandchildren and Sunny 720" Just want to pass on kudos to them. Very well done!
 
Some years ago, I heard the owners of that station had a plan to move it farther south and cover Tampa with a city-grade daytime signal. It would fit snugly between 680 and 760. Then I heard they were moving to Ocala but that seems to have fallen through.

I'd think they could do better if they weren't tied to the WRONG end of Citrus County. 720's nighttime signal goes right down U.S. 41 and Rt. 200. It reaches Brooksville but misses Crystal River entirely.
 
Sounds as if mornings are live and the rest of the day after 12 Noon is some sort of automation/satellite.
