Does anyone know how to contact WSAH/43 besides the 212-966-1059 they give out on the air to buy air time, which is the main phone number for Multi-Cultural Broadcasting? Several times during the past couple weeks, when I've been up that early, I've noticed there's been no audio during "The New Zoo Revue" and "Ask Gilby". The audio is fine for all their other programming which are infomercials and the GEMS-TV Network. The last time I was up to notice this was yesterday (Wednesday the 2nd). There was no audio during "Ask Gilby".

Considering that they're E/I programs, I wonder if the engineers even care if there was no audio, or other important things that may be missing (such as closed-captioning)? Knowing the nature of the station (and, perhaps, E/I in general), the only thing they care about regarding E/I shows is that they're merely "shown" -- quality be damned. In WSAH's case, it's infomercials that require rote attention to technical details. Otherwise, the technical problems during E/I programming would've been taken care of ASAP after the first instance.

- this must be some kind of space they have in an office building in Seymour center.

I don't think it is still popular. In most cases it seems to be used as E/I programming on Shopping affiliates. In addition to former Shop-at-Home O&O's WSAH in Bridgeport and WMFP in Boston, New Zoo Revue was also run on 67/68 in Smithtown/Newark and 66 in Boston when they were running HSN 24/7.
The first time I had ever seen the show was in the late 80s when I was a little boy. It aired on Saturday Mornings on W13BF, a Hartford based foreign language TV station that was a predecessor to todays WRDM-LP Channel 50 the Telemundo Station in Hartford.
But anyway I digress. I've noticed a new E/I show on at 7AM on WSAH. It's called "Dog Tales". It's narrated and produced by Alex Paen and distributed by Tribune. http://www.dogtales.com/
It looks like WSAH and the other stations that carry Shop at Home will be looking for other programming soon.

WSAH has not been a Shop At Home affiliate for nearly one year. WSAH changed ownership on April 24, 2007 to Multicultural Television Broadcasting LLC and changed our format on Memorial Day weekend 2007.
Additionally we take our E/I responsibilities very seriously, however, we did not receive a single complaint from our MSOs or fiber providers, many of whom monitor us on a 24/7/365 basis. As is always good troubleshooting practice, start at the trouble and work backward. Begin by contacting your cable operator, they in turn will notify their upstream provider, and so on until it reaches us.
However, we at WSAH wish Jewelery TV the best as they realign their strategies.

Once WSAH starts showing Asian programming Cox Cable better drop the channel or move it to a higher number. Who wants Asian programs on a channel lower then ch. 10 not me.

Given the new Asian programming that will be featured on the station, I am sure that they want to do whatever they can to reach their target audience which lives in NYC and in the close-in suburbs of Long Island and New Jersey. So it all makes sense.
Anyhow, could it be any worse than that inane home shopping? Or infomercials targeting the "IQ of under 75" demo? Personally, I think not. Some of the Asian programming could actually be entertaining - for a few minutes at least.
And even if WSAH picks up Asian programming, infomercials will remain the bulk of its programming, a la ION. In San Francisco, KCNS, a Multicultural station, runs Chinese programming from 6PM to 12 Midnight nightly, with the rest of the time being infomercials (except for the usual three hour token "obligation" on Monday mornings).
They can add WSAH to the local line-up in New York City. If it wants to be a local NYC station then I don't want it on my cable line-up for the Meriden Cox Cable area. Replace it with CBS 2 or NBC 4. We get WPIX CW 11.
