WSAR 1480AM AND 103.7

Are you all able to get 1480am in Providence?

Last Sunday night, I picked it up in Revere, Massachusetts. This was at night around 10pm. I got it in crystal clear for about a half hour.
When I was listenning to their station. I heard that they have Fox Sports Radio on their station, which also airs on 103.7
But, 103.7 might air it at different times due to different local programming. All in all, 103.7 has Fox Sports on overnights

How about people in Fall River, New Bedford area, are you all able to get 103.7 there?

One time I went to Newport, Ri. I was in Avon, Massachusetts, I got 1340am and 1450am while driving on the way there. Back then, which was around 2001, those stations were Urban AC Format from ABC Radio Network. I got both stations crystal clear when I was driving around Brockton as well.

Tell me may you get those stations in those areas?

How about 96.3? WEEI

Yes 1480 WSAR has a decent signal in the Providence area, during the day, especially on a car radio.  1450 WLKW transmits from West Warwick, RI and is good, but not clear in the Providence area.  1340 WNBH is in New Bedford and weak in the Providence area.  Either you were receiving skywave to get these stations in Avon, MA or you have a very good car radio.  I think it was most likely skywave you were getting, especially on 1450, being so close to 1460 WXBR.  1450 is one of the smallest AM signals in RI and I get static on it driving a few miles west of Providence, during the day.  It does not even scan on the dial if you are more than 10 miles from West Warwick under normal conditions.  You have a better chance to hear 1340 under regular conditions in Avon, because you are in the null of 1330 WRCA, which transmits from Waltham, MA to the east and northeast.  103.7 WEEI transmits from Exeter, RI at 37,000 watts and can easily be heard in Fall River and New Bedford, and also the west end of Cape Cod.  96.3 WEII transmits from Dennis, MA and can be heard well in much of Plymouth county.

wowww, thank you for your reply @Radiojay1
Yes, I did get 1340 good, yes, as you said, 1450am was staticy as I got closer to Newport, I can still hear it, but it was static.

I also picked up 96.3 driving in Southborough, Ma/Framingham, Ma, Natick, Ma, and parts of Waltham, Ma. I was driving in the Mass Pike and Route 128

yes, that's true @Someplace. It is also on Mix 98.5.

Personally I think WEEI 850am should have kept Fox Sports Radio on, it's on all their other stations.
That's why many people always tell me (like my coworkers, friends, and former coworkers...) always tell me "I have no time to listen to the radio" another thing some say is "I don't listen to the radio because there are always changes, so I listen to my MP3"...

WEEI 850 should have just put on Sporting News Radio on 850 and all their stations. It sounds more entertaining and also more attention grabbing. That's just my thought. But I have no say, Radio Management knows more

As part of 1320 WARL's bizarre crazy-quilt "non-format"....Sporting News Radio occasionally pops up....most likely as fill during hours they can't sell.

Hmmmmmm......Now that I think about it....that sounds like just about ALL its airtime... ;D

There is so much repetition among stations these days -- it's not just the music stations. I actually enjoy listening to local stations that can tell me something that's going on locally -- 1240 in Woonsocket does that for me occasionally, as an example. There are plenty of local niches that can be filled -- I guess it's just easier to "pipe it in," instead of working at it.
