WSAR Afternoon Drive

Alright. I don't live in Swansea any longer. I grew up there as I've said before. Therefore, were I currently reside, I don't get the best signal in the world. However, I herd a few things this afternoon. I honestly think the two guys in the afternoon are awful!- Someone told me Ken Pitman was no longer at WBSM... Is that true? Is he going to WSAR.??? I hope soo!! I really do!

I've been in radio for years. However, Keri made a very very bad choice putting these idots on the radio. First of all.... Mike has no broadcast ability. He thinks he is a broadcaster! He needs some work!- He should intern or something!!! Mike has been in jail and selling crack more than anyone I know. But here he is talking out of his butt about " how its bad".... I played against Mike's brother Chris in Basketball in High School. He was sick... Both of them were nasty!- He should stick to listening... GET HIM OFF THE AIR!! PLEASEEEEEEEEEEE.

This afternoon show has lost a ton of listeners! I can't wait for the ratings to come in! " Ohhh boy"

I'm sure when the ratings come in... its gonna be a different story!

Well if there really are ratings in the afternoon than I guess the station can kiss them goodbye. Interesting. Hec is probably looking for a rope to tie around his neck today.

I just went to WSAR's Wikipedia page. The new schedule has been updated with the exception of 3 to 6 PM which is currently left blank. This tells me that Smack and Crack in the afternoon may be filler programming until a real host takes over.

Wiz- Gratitude for all your kind words through out the past several posts. I need to differ with you here. I think that the people should really give Mike and Ed a chance. They are getting brand new callers. People who have never called the station before are starting to call. That is one of our ideas, on moving the station forward. We can’t always have the “ grandmothers” calling…

I think that everyone should be patient with the adjustments. We all need time to adjust here on Home Street. We are functioning hours and hours adjusting. But be kind…. Give Mike and Ed a chance.

Not going to happen with this group...for them it is "What have you done for me within the last 2 minutes" which is about their patience level (reminds me of my 6 year old). I can honestly say I don't listen to WSAR, so wouldn't be fair for me to post anything about the station or show; but I would hold off on anything critical until 2-3 months down the line.....

Reminds you of your 6 year old? hmmm.... I thought I had the patience of a 4 year old. Thank you for your kind words.

The only problem with that is in 2-3 months, the chemistry may change for the better, and the hosts may stop stroking Keri''s ego on the air...(heard alot of that in the past 2 days), but the fact is the voice won't, and i simply can't listen anymore because of that. My wife asked me if the person on the air was "for real"....after a small discussion, she told me it sounds like they got the first guy walking down rt 6 to host the show. I have to agree

Judging by a bit of history which I have seen here, this is what is going to happen. All employees currently working with Keri will continue to give her mad props and major kudos. Then once they are no longer working at WSAR they will come here and bash her. What's going on here? Is she a little to abrasive for her own good? Maybe that is the only question Keri should be asking herself right now. I'm honestly saying this to help her and save her from hatred in the future.

I know that I enjoyed working with everyone at WSAR until they hired one man as program Director who brought that whole place down. Long time employees just walked out the door. He just created an unhealthy atmosphere at the station and proved to be uncompetant at running a radio station. People didn't want to deal with him. I don't want to mention him by name because he has since passed away. It would be unfair. But even that guy I didn't actually hate. I just decided that I couldn't work with him. He was driving me crazy.

However I see Keri get bashed by former co-workers left and right. More than I see any other air personality get bashed on this board by people they have worked with before. What the hell is Keri doing to cause everyone to hate her so much? Maybe some good advice would help her from making so many enemies along the way.

Give Eddie and Mike a chance? Are you freakin' kidding me? I would have thought listening to nails on a chalkboard would be the worst three hours of programming ever but the aptly titled Crack and Smack make that look pleasurable, Ponte.

On one side, you have the worst thing to ever happen to Fall River on: Mike Herron. A crack dealing, house burning, cocaine using, bar brawling bully who has a job because he played basketball for Skippy Karem. He's like Buddy Cianci, except he was actually the one burning people with cigarettes and torching houses for insurance money. Did I mention all the robbing from the lottery when he was a bartender? He's a thug, and he's a thug with a crappy radio voice at that.

And in the other seat its Fast Eddie, who wouldn't know the Battleship in the Taunton River from a toy boat in his tub. He knows nothing about local issues, doesn't care to, and hangs up the second someone either says "Hillary" or "Republican." He's a lunatic, and he makes Herron look like Ghandi. I seem to remember when a mysterious "woman" he met in Baltimore accidently called him on the air because he had instructed her to get a hold of him. You know, just a little side action falling as backwards into calling in to a LIVE show. This is the new afternoon voice of a once proud station.

I would say that this is just a temporary fix (hence the adsence on Wiki) but with the Karems running the show, it's probably here for good. Remember, they were the ones who got Herron back on the air after getting busted with hookers and cocaine at the Motel 6. If they want him on, he'll be one for good.

You know I heard about this, the drug charges and I was upset that another Buddy Cianci type would be getting a job there at Wsar. I know a person in Sanitation hauling that knows Skippy well. You're right about the Karams being not very nice. Poor Wsar.

Every time I come to this board, I wish I hadn't.
By the way, I took my kids to Battleship Cove. It was awesome.

Battle ship cove? Wish you hadn't come??
Then, aaaa, why DID you? Not to talk about radio.
just to keep another WSAR post up top. I see.
