WSAR-AM 1480 To 25KW Days

There shouldn't be much overlap as WSAR's new daytime pattern has a null to the west, which should protect WKND. Checking the FCC database, WKND has 14 watts at night.

It's not a foregone conclusion, however, that there will be no problem with stations to the west of Fall River (WKND, WMMW). Even though WSAR's proposed 25 kW-D pattern has minima to the west, so does the current DA-1 pattern. And as far as I can tell, the new pattern, in its deepest minimum, sends ~3X as much signal (equivalent to ~10X as much power) to the west as does the DA-1 pattern. WMMW, in particular, sends a very healthy daytime signal toward Fall River (almost the equivalent of 5 kW ND). Thar's why I wonder whether WMMW wasn't accidentally-on-purpose left off the first-adjacent contour map in WSAR's application. If I'm right and the Media Bureau engineers catch the omission, they will question the engineering and the consulting engineer will at least have to explain what he left out. However, I think that unless an affected station objects, many of these omissions get past the FCC. In many cases, I don't think the affected stations care because the areas of interference lie outside of their markets and it falls on the contract CE to file the objection. Unless the station is willing to pay the contract engineer for the extra work, the work simply won't get done.
