WSAR sold

WSAR will continue to have local owners. They plan more local coverage. No sale price reported but it nice to see there are still community based stations still on the air. When I first started in the business you had WLLH WSRO WJDA WESX WHAV WBET WPEP WJCC WBVD and WNBP

The press release mentions that they intend to move their transmitter to Fall River. Currently they are 5kW directional with a sharp null to the west with 2 towers in Somerset. Building a new directional array is almost unheard of these days, so I suspect they will have to significantly downgrade to 500 watts or less with their move to Fall River.
