WSB airs Hannity one hour early because of London bombings, but WGST no Rush because of Braves?

WSB airs Hannity one hour early because of London bombings, but WGST no Rush because of Braves?

OK ... follow me on this one. Because of the London bombings, WSB knocked off an hour of Clark Howard and picked up Sean Hannity an hour early at three, with an hour of news at six.

On the other hand WGST ... Rush Limbaugh was pre-empted by Braves. GST in the afternoon picked up the Kimmer (I think) I noted that CC wasn't carrying Rush on 94.9, 105.3, or 105.7 either. I can't pick up 96.7, maybe CC used 96.7.

My comment is (while I hate Rush) with 96 Rock picking up the Braves, ya think 640 AM would preempt the Braves and carry the number #1 talker in the country, in light of this morning news events. You'd think that would be a priority of a news-talker serving it's dittoheads.

Re: WSB airs Hannity one hour early because of London bombings, but WGST no Rush because of Braves?

The "priority" as you say, is to not break a contract with the Braves. It seems like they could have asked the Braves if they could just air the game on 96 Rock, but then again, I don't know the contract details, or if anyone bothered to ask.

Would you risk pissing off the Braves to carry Rush anyway?

It's only entertainment in talk form.

It is Braves Radio 640 GST, not news or Talk Radio. News and Talk fills the time when the Braves aren't playing.

Sports contracts have outs for major breaking news. This would qualify. Stupid call by WGST.

WGST has a contract to carry Rush just as well as one to carry baseball. Granted GST's owners also owns Rush's show but why does the sports contract automatically overide a talk show contract.
