WSB AM/WSBB FM - Monday Morning Announcment

I have heard that they might be reworking their schedule soon, but who knows. Cox doesn't usually sit around long before doing something.

probably nothing but maybe leave the talk on AM and add a lot of news to FM

If they do that, WSB will be at a disadvantage. The 95.5 signal has many more challenges than the 106.7 signal. Both signals have their issues (ask anybody who drives up I-85 between Cheshire Bridge Rd and Clairmont), but 95.5 is the more challenged signal especially on the west side of the metro.

My guess is the AM and FM will split during drive time with the AM taking a direct hit at 106.7 and the FM keep the current schedule.

I hope that doesn't happen. I want WYAY to do well. Though, both stations would be new.....and WYAY is on FM. WSB AM would not be.

Uhhhhhh....... Fox 95? Atlanta's Randy and Spiff Station and Home of the Georgia Bulldogs.

Although I kind of like the idea of the AM FM split I think that is more risky. Perhaps a new line-up like the below is what we could soon be listening to.

Atlanta Morning news 5 - 9 am
Boortz 9 - 12 pm
Noon Newshour 12 - 1
Clark Howard/Goldfein 1 - 3 Could Clark be out for good with his new show on HLN?
Hannity 3 - 6 Though there must be some consideration to cut Hannity short at 5:00, I think the impact could be too huge or risky. Could Clear Channel cancel contract if not cleared live for 3 hours?
Evening Newshour 6- 7 pm
Erick Erickson 7 - 10 With Adam Goldfein full-time in Clark's spot?

I am begging and pleading that WSB not do this.

IMO WSB needs to cut back on the talk--and more specifically dump Hannity during PM drive--if they want to compete with 106.7. I would say Boortz 10-noon and Howard 1-4, and no Hannity.

Maybe Hannity will wind up back on WGST, and maybe that will finally force CC to put WGST on an FM, maybe later this summer in preparation for the winter.

Merely throwing more Kirk Melhuish/Cap'n Herb/Scott Slade/whoever their sports guy is on the air is not the answer. If Cox screws this up, we could very well see the Cox version of Planet Radio, making neither the talk fans nor the news junkies happy.

I forgot about that. "Planet Radio" is definitely more cheezy than "Clear". ;D

BravesRadio was pretty stupid too.

Sounds like All News 106.7 have dropped Flight 1067 and Clear. Lou and boys must be reading the posts here! :D ;D

And, more of the forecasts are supplied by the anchors.

Re: Braves Radio. I remember hearing the late Ernie Johnson Sr. talking about how he would promote upcoming games on "Braves Radio." A listener wrote and asked him where she could purchase a "Braves Radio." LOL.

Seems like there is a slight difference between shifts, so it may be back tomorrow morning ::). Whatever.

Earlier they referred to themselves as "AllNews 106". THAT was refreshing; the "point7" part makes it just a little too long for me (especially if they are going to change to 106.5 anyway).
