WSB AM/WSBB FM - Monday Morning Announcment

Mike_Rafone said:
I agree. AllNews 1067 sounds so much like WCBS-AM and WBBM it is scary. They're fast-paced, non-fluff, professional. I've already re-tuned my clock raido to them, and added them as a pre-set on my portable player.

Boortz is not going to leave before Monica does. He wants to be behind her to slam the door.

Cam somebody do something about Andy Dean? The guy is a joke, absolutely bottom run bush league.

The big announcement? Probably some new segment of the Morning News. They're not going to panic so quick as to change schedules or hosts, though booting off the king of new content would be a good start.

Keep going WYAY; I'm with you all the way.

Please Don'tmake WSB like Merlin. Look at WYAY its more like KCBS-AM

You mean if they go all news? Won't happen.

Of course, we're talking about Monica Pearson on TV, not Monica Perez on the radio. I bring Monica Perez up because they're moving her to the 1PM-3PM slot on Sunday afternoons. She isn't going to last. I prefer her either on Saturday nights 7PM-10PM or Sunday afternoons 3PM-6PM. Here are the ideas for the program schedule I recently emailed to both Pete Spriggs & Condace Pressley:

Weekday Schedule

4AM-9AM Atlanta's Morning News with Scott Slade
9AM-12PM (12 Noon) Neal Boortz
12PM (12 Noon)-1PM Atlanta's Midday News with Sabrina Gibbons

3PM-7PM Atlanta's Afternoon News with Chris Chandler
7PM-10PM Adam Goldfein
10PM-1AM Dave Ramsey
1AM-4AM America Now with Andy Dean

Saturday Schedule

1PM-3PM Adam Goldfein Saturday Car Show
3PM-6PM Mark Arum
6PM-7PM Trust Dale Radio with Dale Cardwell

Where's Eric E.? Did I miss something?

trusty, what I was suggesting in the weekday schedule idea was have News/Talk WSB-AM/WSBB-FM dump Erick Erickson so he can focus more on RedState.com and being a CNN contributor. Now, if Neal Boortz and/or Clark Howard leave permanently, they could bring in Herman Cain and Erick Erickson if he is still interested and wanted to come back. 2 hours is not enough for Erick Erickson unless he were to permanently take Clark Howard's place. If both Herman Cain and Erick Erickson took the places of both Boortz & Clark, it would probably work either way. Either Erick Erickson from 9AM-12PM (12 Noon) and Herman Cain 1PM-3PM, or Herman Cain before Erick Erickson. What would happen to Sean Hannity? Either Sean would permanently lose a market, or he would go to either WGST or another option would be WCFO. WGST needs to get a better FM simulcast on a different frequency because the 92.3 FM thing isn't going to last as long as WDEF in Chattanooga, TN still exists. WCFO just needs an FM simulcast in order for them to be considered a viable option because their AM coverage alone is worse than WGST's, and both cannot be heard at night. I wouldn't want to see Rusty Humphries go, but if it were to come down to him leaving WGST, Rusty would still have his national show on WYXC in Cartersville to fall back on. I'm very thankful that WGST, WCFO, & WYXC all stream online. Of course, I don't listen to WCFO & WYXC very much. It's very, very rare if I ever get the chances to listen to both WCFO & WYXC. That is all.

Thanks for making it .... Clear. ;)

Now, I'm wondering about myself. I noticed the absence of Eric on your schedule but didn't notice Sean Hannity missing, and I'm wondering if my not noticing his absence was a good thing or not... :D

Hi everyone. I was listening to AMN Sunday Edition (Atlanta's Morning News Sunday Edition) this morning, and the timing of this special announcement is after 10AM tomorrow morning during The Neal Boortz Show. So basically, AMN isn't going to start at 4:00 A.M. or 4:30 A.M., Clark Howard isn't leaving yet, and Sean Hannity gets to stay at News/Talk WSB-AM/WSBB-FM. I received a Boortz Blast email message moments ago, and it turns out this special announcement is indeed Boortz-related. The email message says this:

If there were ever a reason to listen…

Neal’s outspoken year of talking dangerously gets even edgier tomorrow morning at 10:06. It’s a Neal Boortz MUST listen.

So based on this, either Neal declined the nomination for the Georgia Supreme Court, or he needs more time to think about it and won't announce his decision until either later this month or next month in July. Most likely, this special announcement tomorrow morning will not have anything to do with his being nominated for the Georgia Supreme Court. That is all.

I HATE Neil BORING.................He needs to retire to his "billions" he brags about all the effing time...He makes me sick.

Radio Insight is reporting that Neal is announcing his retirement because they found a copy of the press release online. It is said that Jan 18 2013 will be his last day and that Herman Cain will take over. So neal did not technically lie when he said that he tweeted that he is not retiring monday because its just the announcement.

If you hate him, why listen? If you become ill, why punish yourself? It's YOU that is responsible, not Neil, if you feel this way and still listen. I don't like Ed Schultz. I don't listen or watch him.

I don't listen to him, but he is an albatross in Atlanta radio and I know his pompous ass style.......

Every radio has at least two knobs (buttons, etc.) that will address your concerns.
