WSB and wreck coverage

Oh, how I miss Keith Kalland.

Preach it, brother!

Capt. Herb couldn't hold a candle to KK. Capt. Herb always sounds like somebody's perv uncle, and his specials where he has a state trooper on the show (usually subbing for Boortz) are disgusting, where he spends most of his time brown-nosing brown-necking the trooper.

Although when Boortz cuts into Capt. Herb on speed limits, etc. it's quite funny. I don't think I have ever seen Boortz cut into a fellow WSBer like he has with Capt. Herb.

Sorry Jabba......I can't let your cruel, heartless comments 'bout my main man Capt'n Herb pass with rebuttal.
Now I liked Keith too.....he certainly could take a normally boring traffic report and "stick a fork in it" but you just gotta love Capt'n Herb!
If you know Herb you know he is one of the nicest guys in the business. This guy gives away a lot of time to community events and causes - he is routinely at Douglas County fundraisers (Herb lives in Douglas County)and I would guess....if you had a fundraiser and asked him to be there.....he would. Herb was, back in the day, a good radio jock, a member of a country/southern rock band whose name escapes me at the moment, and has a broadcast career which has spanned some 30 years. A performer with his own unique personality.....love him or hate him....there is only one Capt'n Herb.
If for no other reason I like Capt'n 'cause he's the ONLY traffic reporter to ever mention I-20 westside traffic. Why do all other traffic sayers ignore the west side of town? Demos from the west side not "important" enough??

Captain Herb has always been my favorite despite the talking-too-fast criticism he sometimes gets here. And maybe because he fits so well with WSB, especially on Atlanta's Morning News. Now...there's a face made for radio but a terrific traffic reporter.
