WSB Gets Rush

Geezer radio! If you can't do any better than that turn in the license!

If you don't like it, there are two controls that come standard on every radio. That's the power button and the tuning knob, use one of them.

okay kids....settle down. he's a radio entertainer and he's made a career out of rhetoric..basically wrote the book that every other talk show pundit has used as their guide.

Really? Why would Clear Channel flip WGST 40 days before the election then?
Because WGST was already dead, basically serving as an outlet to clear Beck and Rush for Premiere (CC).

Also such a move is not unheard of. Recall news/talk 96.5 WWDB in Philadelphia flipped to "The Point" hours before Election Day.

Can a talk station offer to buy out a competing station's contract with a syndicated talk show? Like could WGST obtain Huckabee or Ingram from WCFO? Just curious.

I'm pretty sure you can as long as you put enough zeros on the check.

If by that you mean Joe Pyne did it 2 decades earlier, well, then, yeah.

:D :D :D
I must be slowing down.
I just caught the multiple meanings of this thread:
1. Rush: To cause to move or act with unusual haste
2. Rush Limbaugh
3. Rush: To move or act swiftly; hurry. (They had to get all the promotional materials done, and fast.)
4. Rush: a. The intensely pleasurable sensation experienced immediately after use of a stimulant or a mind-altering drug. b. A sudden, brief exhilaration

So, after being rushed, they got Rush, and having to rush, do you think they are still feeling a rush?
;D ;D
Sorry. Couldn't resist.

Rush is a top rated talk show, so it makes sense that WSB would need a strong personality on the station, especially since Neal Boortz is retiring. But i am a bit sorry to see Clark Howard being bumped because of this.
