WSB Stealing Memories

Did anyone else think it odd that WSB-AM ran what sounded like Braves promos "remembering" Skip Caray? My theory is shot if we're on PPM already, otherwise I'd say they were hoping for a few diary entries from those still crediting WSB for Braves listening...

Why would it be odd for WSB to remember Skip Carey? He was on WSB-AM 750 for 25 years, at least! Why do you find something odd with that??????? I think it is great thing for WSB to do. The Braves had a big cermony for Skip`s birthday yesterday. Is this "odd" too? My god, the man just died! Have some compassion!

Let it be a reminder that when the news broke about Skip Caray's passing that Sunday evening, WSB Radio immediately went live with Mark Arum taking phone calls until late that evening from Braves fans about Caray, while their competition down the street who happens to be the Braves FLAGSHIP station ran a syndicated national political show that night. I think WSB should be commended on the great coverage surrounding Skip Caray and his passing.

I totally agree. Skip was a big part of WSB-AM for so many years. They are doing a great job remembering him. WGST-AM has SO many problems........ I would love to see the Braves go back to WSB.

Amen to that !!! WSB is the only signal that deserves The Braves. Am 750 was there home for so many years, WCNN years back had em, in the early 80s and then right back to WSB.

My God people, get over it. WSB deserves the Braves??? That's the business. Cox was outbid by CC, and CC will soon be outbid by someone else, probably Cox, and so it goes in the biz today. Look at ABC's Monday Night Football, or when FOX outbid CBS for NFL football. Life goes on.
Please stop mentioning that Mark Arrum (are you in love with this guy or what?) and the show he did the day Skip died. WGST has done a couple of tributes and aired Caray's memorial service (hosted by Mitch Evans :), so I think they both have honored Skip well.
Anyway, if you can listen to the games on FM (94.9), then what is the argument the the Braves sound better on WSB? I don't get that one, since the announcers don't change.
I do remember the first time WGST landed the Braves in the early 90's, WSB put the games on 7 second delay toward the end of the season, for fear that they would mention they were switching flagships. Skip was not too happy with WSB about that move.

Agreed they sounds so much better on FM than any AM signal.

Devotion to Accuracy Department. MNF was moved from ABC to ESPN. Both are owned by Disney. Moving MNF to ESPN is like being a talk show host in Atlanta and moving to Macon to do AM drive.

I see a new inside joke developing on this board.
Are you calling me a joke? If so I challenge you to a duel! Pistols at dawn in Macon.

Macon? I will not settle for some second rate market. It's Top 20 markets or bust for me. Once you make it big there is no going back.
