WSBA loses again

Agreed! The Orioles can't find an owner who knows how to develop a minor league system. I suggest some reading material by Branch Rickey.

The O's are crazy if they think they'll get the promotional effort from WSBA that they got in the Susquehanna days. Carriage of the games at best. Penny pinching Toerper is going to want a deal less than the going rate.

WSBA-AM 910 is headed back to the big leagues.
After a three-year stint broadcasting the minor-league York Revolution, the former longtime affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles has once again contracted to broadcast Orioles games.

WSBA has agreed to a two-year contract with the Orioles "with some options," according Todd Toerper, the general manager for Cumulus radio in York. WSBA will air regular-season games and select spring training games beginning in March.

"With some options" probably means we won't be running the weekday day games. I doubt WSBA, which has been seeing a rise in its ratings of late, is going to pre-empt it's daytime talk lineup for games by a team that is, at best, AAA level these days. Perhaps those are put on 1440.

This will be a success if the games are sold out, as far as spots go. But the cost to run the Revolution had to be far less than the rights to the Orioles.

This was a dumb move, plain and simple. Hope they got it for free, because that's the kind of deal they're gonna have to offer people for ad rates. Baseball fans don't listen to these guys anymore. At least we won't hear Sutton gnawing or choking through some kind of food while trying to out-call Darryl Henry on a play.
