WSBC/WCFJ

Does anyone know if WSBC & WCFJ always sign off at a certain time each night, or sign off because they don't have all the hours filled in for brokered programming. After getting off work at 2am, I drove into Illinois to get lottery tickets for Mega Millions and decided to turn on WCFJ, just to hear if I could get a clear signal and find out what was on. I heard Rebel Radio while driving through Chicago Heights, and Glenwood before the station signed off at 3am. The I don't know what 1470 I was picking up after that. WCFJ doesn't come in that clearly in Lowell at night. As for Rebel Radio, the only way I might consider listening to it again is when I'm in a bad mood. It's not something I would normally listen to, but it seems to release any anger I might have. I'm trying to put it in a way that doesn't offend the actual Rebel Radio fans.

Scott Davidzon is a great guy. I feel bad that he got stuck with WCFJ, WSBC. He isn't even on everyday anymore. I know the prices are way too expensive for him.

As for sign off, I think they do sign off, because they do not have anybody to sell the time too. Maybe they should lower the price and give it to Rebel. Too bad Pinsky is a prick!

I don't know of any stations that voluntarily sign off anymore. WCFJ is 1kw with 2 directional patterns and WSBC is 1kw ND. I'm sure once WSBC signs off, WJOB might be able to be heard better in the city.

I used to occatinally catch it on WVVX (103.1) back before Heart & Soul started just to hear what 103.1 sounded like in English.

Last I heard Rebel Radio was on a Sunday driving back from Chicago. Cought it on 1330 WKTA.

The only other place I ever heard rock that hard was on WJJO in Madison, WI<P ID="signature">______________

On WKTA they are on Sunday nights from 4pm-7pm.
On WSBC/WCFJ they are on I think Mon/Wed/Fri from 12-3am.

Its too bad. They have been around for a long time. Its not like it really makes any money, I think Scott just does it for the love of the music.
