WSBG and the "New Neighbors!"

Wonder wzup with WTSX? A new permit has been approved with reduced power and a change of tower location. The first permit stated 5000 ERP with a tower height of a few feet less than 300. The new permit is drastically downgraded. It could only be temporary to buy more time but if not, they will be lucky to give a descent regional signal into the Stroudsburg area. Wow, what a rush to start the summer sweeps which are just around the corner! Anybody know what might be going on with this situation??

Lately Radio-Locator shows "The antenna pattern for ..... is unavailable" for many stations including MJQ-1450 and TSX's new site. Anyone know the reason?

Yup, I keep checking to see if Radio-Locator makes available the new antenna pattern for WTSX. Also I heard through the grapevine that there are money issues with this company which may have lead for a new permit. Either way, I'll be listening out for the "new stronger signal" in the Stroudsburg area in days to come. I am curious on what 200 watts can do in that area since the transmitter is located in Lehman Township. Most likely, a signal that is simular to ESU's college radio station, WESS from a distance of 10 miles out.

The 200 watt situation you cited was temporary so WTSX could get the new facility up and running, and most importantly, licensed, as soon as possible. When this happened it allowed 96.7 WCTX (Now WKLV) to be sold to EMF (The K-Love folks) and move the station from Stamford CT to Port Chester NY. The only reason TSX moved south and west to Lehman Twp was to allow the WKLV move-in to cover New York City.

According to the FCC WTSX was licensed with 5,000 watts at 70metres on 20 July 2011. The 60dbu signal encompasses all of Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg; because of that, any signal problems in that area could be rectified with a translator.

Just stumbled upon this site. I live in Stroudsburg and let me tell you WTSX has a STRONG signal now that's it's broadcasting at full power. Throughout the Stroudsburg area it's very strong. I was even able to receive it on a portable radio in the Allentown area. The folks at WSBG better watch out. SBG repeats the same crappy songs over and over again, but "The Fox" has a lot more variety especially with older songs from the 1980s and 90s, somewhat like the old "Lite" format.

TSX has applied to move the tower back north a bit and received a construction permit to do so in September.

Current licensed operation: The red line is the one to pay attention to: the 60dbu signal.

Looks like they aren't interested in Stroudsburg as much as Port Jervis. The CP will allow them to put a translator in Port Jervis.
