WSB's Elmo Ellis Dies

WSB pioneer Elmo Ellis dies at 86.
He started at the Atlanta station (whose call letters stood for "Welcome South Brother") in 1940 as publicity director - and had made the full-service outlet an institution by the time he retired as GM in 1982. He was a permanent fixture at industry conventions - usually sitting in the front row to take notes. The Journal Constitution says Ellis attended a reunion party just last month. He passed away at his home in Sandy Springs.
