WSEV

Can anyone tell me how well WSEV 105.5 comes in in Knoxville? I'm just curious because every time I drive through Knoxville, I always forget to check 105.5 and the coverage map on Radio-Locator.com shows that it has a grade-B signal over Knoxville, but it seems like the mountains would block most of the signal from getting there. Any thoughts?

When I was in Knoxville and Maryville in 2001, the signal either barely came in or was nonexistent depending on where you were.

They are only pumping about 500w and the antenna is up above Gatlinburg. No mountain blocking just not enough power to get very far, the same thing for the 106.3 that they owned that is licensed to Pigeon Forge.

On paper (a.k.a. coverage maps) 105.5 does carry into Knoxville with a listenable signal but the problem is that stronger signals at 105.3 and 105.7 drown it out. 106.3 has a similar problem. I used to listen to 106.3 all the way to Pellissippi Parkway until 106.1 came on the air.
