The AM lost its transmitter site in 2022. The translator was originating programming and operating from the wrong site for over a year.

The Federal Communications Commission is taking a coastal Georgia AM station's FM translator and slapping the operator with a $16,200 fine for myriad violations, including unauthorized operation and modification, dead air, and unauthorized transfer of control against Southern Media Interactive LLC.

IMHO they are getting off cheap. The FCC should be able to set a deadline to file a STA for the legal return of broadcasting or forfeiture of all licenses. The commission has been very liberal with AM STAs. I seen 25 percent of power accepted. If a station can't come up with the revenue required to operate legally, sell it or turn in the license.
