WSFT - When Did It Go Silent and Other Questions

I saw Guy Sharpe's bio on GRHOF, that he got his start at WSFT in Thomaston. Who else worked or passed through there? Does anyone know when WSFT went silent? I see Upson Broadcasting Inc. is still a registered Ga. corporation, but the station doesn't look like its operated since maybe 1997. I was the morning person there for a while in the mid-70's. Are Bill Heule and Claude Thames still alive? Does anyone remember the name of the engineer? He was a character.

Bill Huele! One of my favorites. I spoke with him on the phone several times a week. He was always cheerful and helpful. I've heard but cannot confirm that he is no longer with us.
Was John Holiman ever employed at SFT?

I found out Bill Heule died July 28, 1990. He was 64.

The engineer that I knew at WSFT was Don Standhart.
