WSHR becomes 91.9 The Arrow

So THAT was the source of the CHR music I was hearing on 91.9 during the tropo opening a few days ago.

What a waste. A station with a small signal and low budget will fall flat against the 6 other CHR stations in its coverage area. 92.3, 95.7, 100.3, 101.3, 101.7, and 106.1 all play the same music. Since it's a high school station, it may be the "coolest" station for the students of that school, but no one else will listen. Might as well just have the high school kids play what they want and have a freeform format.

Problem with that is if any of them want to work in radiom playing freeform now doesn't help them learn the formatics of a station.

I think it's good. Of the stations you mention, 92.3, 95.7 and 100.3 aren't very strong in the area (especially 95.7). KC 101 has very little listenership on LI and Beach is a non-starter (and has a poor signal west of Medford).

This could be a good alternative to those tired of Randy and the other so-so jocks on BLI and want commercial free music.

Amen.... I graduated from Sachem, and will do a piece on the station for GOOD TIMES Magazine immediately..go, flaming arrows, GO!

Sounds much more like a Hot AC than a CHR, heavy pop and rock lean, outside of the few rhythmic songs that have crossed to Hot AC, seems to have very little of anything rhythmic.
