Were is WSHR ? They have been off the air for a few weeks now.

well, it's back to school week, so stay tuned...(I was part of the birth of WSHR,circa 1970/71, with Mr.Ferns; I got the boot for being too political, and for dedicating the "Beer Barrel Polka" to vice principal Mr. Beebe, commenting that he looked like a walking beer barrel..... shock jock a little ahead of the curve, I suppose

The antenna system was badly damaged in one of those super-Tstorms we had over the summer. A new antenna is up on the tower now, they are waiting for parts to fit the coax into the transmitter. I saw what was left of the fittings, this was not a glancing blow... and because its a high school and the bidding for new parts.... schools and government agencies take their time you know... not as quick as it should be.

Jimi...you're one funny dude. I never heard of a kid getting booted from a high school radio station. (lol)

I wish I went to Sachem High School. My high school didn't have a radio station. WSHR produced Jim Pierce (of WBLI fame). Remember when WSHR used the handle "E92"? I gather "E" was for education??????

after that, I got booted from the earliest version of LIR FM,which was "Avant Garde Rock Radio", Mike Harrison/Dick Neer, for being outspoken and controversial: I was phoning in the "Avant Garde Rock Report",and did a blistering liberal take/review on the then new movie "Patton" with George C. Scott; Harrison told me 'no more politics", so I dumped the feature and my participation...."Talkers",anyone?..it amuses me that I was decades ahead of what was to become big business, and could have been the 'hot' air in Air America, I suppose
