One of my alma-maters from the early to mid 80s. Fun fact is the upgrade to 50,000 watts and move of the tower to Routes 26 and 29 was covered by whoever owned WIKS (later WZPL) at the time, so 99.5 could move closer to Indianapolis.

I remember that station. Back in early 90s it always had bad sound. Always sounded muffled.

Vern used to tune it for his ear. I remember it sounding more tinny when I was there, because older people lose the high end of their hearing.
