WSIX PD OUT

In an unexpected move, longtime PD Keith Kaufman has exited Clear Channel's country WSIX Nashville, where he had worked since 1997. In a brief e-mail, VP/market manager Tom English said, "Keith Kaufman is no longer a member of the WSIX team. We wish Keith well in all of his future endeavors. Our search for the next great country programmer begins immediately. Interested parties should send their information to [email protected]."
WOW...anyone see this coming?

So after just three months, they decided Keith is no longer the man of the "house".

i didn't see any numbers with the last book...what were they before and after gerry ??

Cume with Gerry was around 290,000 and cume after him has dropped to around 230,000. They went from a top 5 AQH% to number 9 in the Feb. period. WKDF beat them out with cume and AQH numbers. These numbers are rounded off of course.

On a side note, I really hate to hear about Keith's departure. I'm sure that he won't have an issue securing another great gig in just about any city he wants. I wish him the best!

i hope mike bohan surfaces somewhere..i don't know him personally..but he seems like the nicest guy you ever meet...probably too nice for radio today..

I thought they had handled the transition pretty well. There must be more to this than meets the eye.

I don't know. It seems like a slow time for country music right now. Not many new records - I hear a lot of the same stuff Gerry was playing before he left!!
