WSJC Magee on

Back on for their brief broadcast to keep from losing the license. Very weak signal, obvious not 50,000 watts. The owners have been doing this for years, can't afford to run it, can't or won't sell it. Sounds like the same Seventh Day Advenist programming. At $350k per episode maybe Angus T. Jones from 2 1/2 Men should buy it, since he is now Seventh Day Adventist.

I had not read this until Sunday night, but I had atttempted to pick up the station on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I live in Terry and drove to Jackson on Friday and Saturday and to Brookhaven on Sunday. I could not pick up anything on any of those days. Hopefully, the station will be getting stronger.

Just checked the FCC CDBS - WSJC filed to operate at 1kw day while repairs are being made to the antenna system and 50kw transmitter. They will cover Magee but you'll have a tough time picking it up around Jackson for now.

I can hear it in Brandon on a car radio, not under a power line. It doesn't sound like 1kw. When they used to run nightime power years ago and It sounded better. There is a 50kw station on 810 in Aniston, Alabama (Alabama 810) that you can hear under WSJC in the early morning and afternoon that plays country, and seems to do well. It's a shame to see Magee with no radio station. If they could get an FM translator, I'd like to see a classic country format. 99.3 is now talk, so there wouldn't be much competition. It would be almost impossible to make any money off of it these days with that expensive light bill, but who knows. if they could get it back to 50kw I'd listen. I miss my classic country since our only one went rap.

I drove by the studio last week and the gate is locked tight. I would love to buy the station back and bring it back to it's former glory!
