WSJD Foreclosure?

Has anybody heard any info on this? Read it in a newspaper that Wabash Broadcasting, Inc. is being forclosed on. Jan. 31st Could be judgement day?!?

606 & 610 Market St. - Mt. Carmel Studios
15739 Highway 1 - WVMC-AM Tower Location

and some other piece of property.

Even when the AM has been on, it's been distorted beyond normal listening... WYNG doing local programming and re-positioning to Wabash, Edwards, North White, Lawrence Counties in Illinois and Gibson, Knox, North Posey, Davies and Pike Counties in Indiana, has taken a bite out of automated 100.5....(Just an opinion)... I have noticed a move toward "Classic Hits and Classic Rock 40 Hits" on WYNG over the past month.... And their rates are very low... Withers can afford that, in the early run.... Slowly they are tightening their voices and sound.. Interesting things happening in my birthplace..... Meanwhile WVJC down on the non-com is consistant with their NewRock/Alternative format, but still seem to lack in training formatics to the air staff...Sounds like they need to focus on putting the 'young pups' on the sub-carrier reading for the Radio-Information Service or buy 1360 and make that level one... Then as they improve, move them over to 89.1.... VU (Vincennes) has that advantage with two Part 15 FM's on campus and the opportunity to teach sales through the VU Foundation's 96.7/"The Max".....

Banks are in trouble. Auto dealers are in trouble. Mom and pop businesses are closing. Chain
stores are going bankrupt. Of course, Wal-Mart will survive. But, they don't need radio ads.

I am not sure how many radio stations will be left by 2010.

Just a thought. With Southeastern Illinois and Southwestern Indiana being so conservative (and yeah, even the Demos in this area are pretty conservative or at least, play the middle) .... How about a right-leaning FM talk station that would blanket the tri-state day and night? 1280, yes they do a good job, but at night? RIGHT WYNG...hey, I like how that sounds. Maybe it could work?

Refresh my memory, where does Wabash Broadcasting, Inc. fit in with WSJD? The license holder is WSJD, Inc. I was just wondering how Wabash Broadcasting being foreclosed on can mean "judgment day" for WSJD. Sounds like wishful thinking.

Blanketing the Tri-State, Kentucky? Not so much, 1280 still has better coverage in Kentucky day and night. If you go back a few pages or do a search you'll find a long series of armchair quarterback post regarding 94.9.

What i meant by judgement day is that WSJD is loosing their studios...(maybe). Depends on if someone can come up with the money to make the bank happy. Its gonna be hard to send a signal to their transmitter without a STL tower.

Wabash Broadcasting, Inc. only has a LMA with Randolph Bell, but they own the studios and the am tower site and the wpdq-lp tower site (same as WSJD's Tower site).

Just sounds like it could be a mess.

I was going to ask about the Randy Bell connection and if this had an effect on his other signals.

Hey, Rob:

Here's the short answer: Whatever occurs with Wabash Broadcasting (which, for the record, does not have an LMA with WSJD), will have absolutely no effect whatsoever on WSJD, or any other stations for that matter.

Corporately speaking, however, radiojunkie93.9 should expect to be hearing from us again, real soon.

As Casey would say, "Rob, Thanks for the letter...Now on with the countdown".

Randy,

I'm shocked you, of all people, forgot the jingle. Casey's Coast to Coast ;D

...unless it was produced by the competition, then I understand.

Glad to hear the seperate WVB does not have a bearing on the FM... Enjoy "True Oldies" from Shannon's network... :D
