I looked at the CP on www.fccinfo.com. It's a CP to operate with a non directional antenna at the same height & essentially the same power. Their signal should increase mainly in the Southeast, South and Southwest directions & remain the same to the North.

Oh Boy, another Move in to Evansville. :D Mabye I'll finally get my Urban :D

Just JOSHing yall.

Probably a moot point seeing how there's a translator (illegally?) cutting into their signal at 100.5 in evansville the way it is.

"...There is an issue regarding this frequency and thus far the translator has a better paper trail for its operation...."

Rob: What issue? As I understand it, that translator in Owensboro is extending well passed Philpot's 60 dBu signal. It's supposed to be directional and Hertel measured it and had a 60 dBu reading at his mansion out on the west side of Evansville. Hertel took the reading at the request of WBIO, by the way. So they know it's out of tolerance. That, over a year ago, the folks at WSJD talked to "Porky" the manager and their engineer, Sparky, Jr., about the problem and essentially got the brush off. Thus, the "go away kid, you bother me" tone, annoyed Michelle, Randy, Marty and Kevin (both) so much that the licensee filed for the non-directional and the antenna and the new feedline was ordered five minutes after the CP grant.

As it stands as a directional FM, WSJD's 40 dBu is supposed to be protected and W263BG isn't doing that. In short, you get what you pay for and that bargain basement SWR brand "directional" antenna doesn't work. You can heard that translator in places that the primary station's signal wouldn't reach for love or money.

Of course, the real question is exactly why does a Class A in Philpot, er, Owensboro need a translator anyway?
